Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors to our website, customers and prospective customers, people who contact us for support or inquiries, and anyone who interacts with VariantQuest through our website or through connected marketplace channels where VariantQuest sells or fulfills orders.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with VariantQuest, we may collect:

• Contact and account information — such as your name, email address, account login details (if you create an account), and messages you send us (for example at hello@variantquest.com).
• Purchase and order information — items you buy or inquire about, order history, transaction references, and related customer service records. Today, many VariantQuest sales may occur through third-party marketplaces; when you purchase through a marketplace such as eBay, that platform may collect and process order information under its own privacy policy.
• Shipping and billing information — delivery addresses, shipping preferences, and billing details needed to fulfill orders. When checkout occurs on a marketplace platform, that platform typically collects this information directly.
• Communications and customer support information — the content of emails, messages, or other correspondence with VariantQuest and records needed to respond to your requests.
• Website and device information — basic technical information such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, and approximate access times, as well as information collected through cookies or similar technologies as described below.
• Marketplace-related information — when you interact with VariantQuest through a connected marketplace, we may receive information made available through that marketplace in connection with listings, orders, customer inquiries, or account authorization, as described in the next section.

Connected marketplaces (including eBay)

VariantQuest may connect to third-party marketplaces such as eBay to offer products, manage listings, process marketplace orders, and support fulfillment and customer service related to those sales.

When a marketplace connection is authorized, VariantQuest may receive and use information made available through the marketplace’s services, which may include:

• Account and profile information associated with the authorized connection;
• Listing, inventory, order, and fulfillment information needed to sell and ship products;
• Customer inquiry or messaging information related to marketplace transactions, where applicable.

We use this information only for authorized business and marketplace purposes, such as listing products, completing sales, fulfilling orders, providing customer support, and maintaining our relationship with the marketplace platform.

Marketplace platforms are independent services. They process personal information under their own privacy policies and terms. If you purchase from VariantQuest on eBay or another marketplace, that platform’s privacy practices apply to your use of that platform.

You may be able to review or revoke VariantQuest’s access to a connected marketplace account through that marketplace’s account or third-party application settings (for example, eBay’s settings for authorized applications).

Payment information

Where purchases occur through a third-party marketplace such as eBay, payment processing is handled by that marketplace and its payment partners under their own terms and privacy practices. VariantQuest does not receive or store your full payment card number from those marketplace checkout flows.

VariantQuest.com does not currently offer direct checkout on our public website. If we introduce direct-to-consumer checkout in the future, payment information would be processed by the applicable payment processor rather than stored directly by VariantQuest, except as needed to complete the transaction and provide customer support.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Operate and improve our website and customer experience;
• Process orders, inquiries, and customer support requests;
• Communicate with you about products, orders, promotions, and service updates;
• Fulfill purchases and manage shipping and returns, including through connected marketplaces;

We do not sell personal information.

Third-party services

VariantQuest uses third-party services to operate our website and business. For example:

• Marketplaces such as eBay — when you buy from VariantQuest through a marketplace or when VariantQuest uses marketplace services to list products and manage sales;
• Google Fonts — typography loaded on our public website, which may cause your browser to request font files from Google.

We may also use other vendors that help us host our website, deliver email, process shipments, or perform similar business functions. Those providers process information according to their own privacy policies and our instructions where applicable.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our public website is largely static. We do not currently use third-party advertising, analytics, or social-media tracking pixels on variantquest.com. Loading fonts from Google Fonts may cause your browser to connect to Google’s servers.

If we introduce account features, checkout, or other interactive functionality on variantquest.com in the future, we may use cookies or similar technologies needed to operate those features. We will update this policy if our practices change materially.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate our business, fulfill orders, provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

Children’s privacy

VariantQuest is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
